Israel and Hezbollah Agree to Ceasefire.......

After days of intense fighting, Israel and Hezbollah have agreed to a U.S.-brokered ceasefire. The deal was approved by Israel's Cabinet on Tuesday evening, with only one minister dissenting.

The ceasefire, which went into effect at 4 a.m. local time on Wednesday, calls for a mutual withdrawal of forces over the next 60 days. During this period, the Lebanese army and security forces will deploy in southern Lebanon to take control of areas currently held by Hezbollah.

The agreement aims to allow civilians on both sides of the border to return to their homes. However, despite the ceasefire, bombings continued in Beirut as President Biden announced the deal.

While Israel has expressed gratitude for U.S. mediation, it has also reserved the right to respond to any threats to its security. Hezbollah, on the other hand, has yet to officially comment on the ceasefire.

The success of the ceasefire will depend largely on the actions of Hezbollah. If the group adheres to the terms of the agreement, it could lead to a period of relative calm in the region. However, if Hezbollah violates the ceasefire or continues to pose a threat to Israel, the situation could quickly escalate once again.
